Description

Charles Tonui is an environmental scientist with a decade plus years of experience in climate change adaptation research in Sub Saharan Africa. Tonui is a member of the Africa Research and Impact Network (ARIN), the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS)’ Pathways Academy Platform and Policy Entrepreneurs network and the experts assisting in the technical work under the UAE-Belem Work Programme on indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA). Tonui is a PhD researcher on governance of SDGs in East Africa at Wageningen University and Research (WUR), Netherlands. Tonui actively co-convenes sustainability and adaptation research-policy discussions from local to international level that aim to enhance co-production of evidence to shape policies towards building sustainable economies in Africa. Tonui has coauthored several publications, which include the book ‘The Africa’ Rights to Development in A Climate Constrained World’ launched at the sides of the 58th Sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies.
