Description

Martijn is a circular economy and sustainability researcher at the Dutch institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). He currently is the coordinator of the RIVM project on measuring the environmental footprint of the Dutch healthcare sector, and is involved in numerous other projects related to impact calculations and sustainability strategies in the healthcare sector. Other research areas include methodological development and support for sustainable public procurement and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD). With a background in Industrial Design and Industrial Ecology Martijn has previously supported start-ups with prospective environmental impact assessments. He continues to apply industrial ecology principles in his work on a daily basis.
