Description

Hellen Njoki Wanjohi-Opil is the Climate and Engagement Lead at the World Resources Institute (WRI-Africa) and is also seconded part-time to support the High-Level Climate Champions Team. She is an urban planning and climate change expert with over 15 years' experience in participatory planning in over 20 informal settlements, and with marginalized rural communities in Africa. She has also worked extensively with city, regional and national authorities in the preparation of over 15 development plans in Africa. Hellen's experience includes working & consulting for UN Agencies (inc. UNDP & UN-Habitat), as well as working on multiple donor-funded projects in the areas of climate resilience, urban governance, urban investment planning, policy, gender, and social inclusion.
