Description

Ms Jane Lumumba, is in charge of strategic planning and climate change in the Regional Office for Africa (ROAF) at UN-Habitat. Prior to joining UN-Habitat, Jane was the Africa Director for the UN Climate Change High-level Champions for COP 28 and COP 29. She led the Africa team in providing strategic leadership on real economy climate action in the continent, shaping the narrative of sustainable development, green growth and climate action. She oversaw workstreams on energy transitions, climate finance, resilient cities, and nature/food systems. She was also a Manager, Global Sectors and Government and KPMG International where she developed a cities and climate change strategy for the advisory practice. Jane was the West and East Africa Advisor for the Commonwealth Local Government Forum. She has vast experience in the urban development sector managing multi-lateral programs in sub-Saharan Africa driving local economic development, the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthening the nexus between cities and climate action.
