Description

Mr. François Paul Yatta holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Economics, he is also habilitated to Direct Research (HDR). He provides university teaching and training, supervises PhDs and is member of PhD juries in Africa, France and Switzerland. Dr Yatta researches focuses on decentralisation, urban economy, macroeconomic implications of urbanisation, local finance and fiscal decentralisation in Africa. Dr Paul Yatta is author of two books “Cities and economic development in Africa: an approach through social economic accounts”, Publication co-financed by the SWAC-OECD, and “Fiscal decentralisation in Africa: challenges and perspectives”, Publication co-financed by the Swiss Cooperation. He produced two "Think Pieces" for the OECD-AfDB as part of the African Economic Outlook, “Can Decentralisation help African countries better manage their spatial and territorial inequalities?” for the 2015 report “Regional Development and Spatial Inclusion” and “Urbanisation and Structural Transformation in Africa: How to Remove Constraints on the Development of Local Economies” for the 2016 report “Sustainable Cities and Structural Transformation”.
