Description

"I specialise in geospatial analysis within the context of the African urban landscape at the Sahel and West Africa Club of the OECD. My professional life has encompassed diverse roles, including a consultancy at the RiSE Group where I facilitated the realisation of urban and corporate objectives through the strategic application of geospatial tools. Furthermore, I served as an adjunct professor at EAFIT University, imparting advanced knowledge to graduate students in the Master of Urban and Environmental Processes program, focusing on the utilisation of geospatial data and remote sensing for urban analysis. My academic background included a postdoctoral position at the RiSE Group, where my research delved into the domains of urban structure and sustainability, with a particular emphasis on green spaces. Additionally, I have contributed significantly as an environmental consultant, with a specialty in geomorphology and wetland mapping. Notably, I led a geomorphology team in the Oil and Gas sector, pioneering a methodology for wetland mapping in Colombia that leveraged geospatial data, remote sensing, and on-site fieldwork. My academic credentials include a degree in Geologic Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, an M.Sc. in Earth Sciences from EAFIT University, and a Ph.D. in Geodesy, Cartography, and GIS from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. My commitment to advancing knowledge and contributing to transformative initiatives underscores my dedication to this field."
