Climate and Environment Specialist

Presentation

Currently, I am working in the capacity of Climate and Environment Specialist with Strategic, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Livelihoods Department at ICIMOD (Nepal) wherein I am contributing towards COP26 and other projects funded by FCDO. In my current role I am contributing to the research activities and technical analysis related to climate change and energy such as climate innovation, scaling up of renewable energy, sectoral mitigation strategies, low carbon development etc. Previously, I was working in the capacity of Commercial Head (Water and Environment / Cleantech / Smart Cities) at Trade Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark in India. Prior to this I was working as Commercial and Innovation Head (Water & Environment/ Cleantech) at Trade Council and Innovation Centre Denmark. In Feb 2017, I joined Innovation Centre Denmark as Senior Commercial Advisor (Cleantech), at Royal Danish Embassy in Delhi, India. The role comprises of business development, managing Danish Innovation Environments, Start-ups, SMEs, Big Companies and Public Utilities in Energy and Environment Space in India, Nordic Profiling and Branding in India with context to Sustainable cities in India. It also includes formulating synergies between both Denmark’s and India’s Sustainable Development Goals in water and energy space. I have been working on developing the innovation business ecosystems, evaluating techno-commercially viable water and energy projects; conducting policy research, business development in wind energy, water and wastewater, climate change (mitigation, adaptation, and finance), renewable energy (Wind energy, wind solar hybrids, energy efficiency, green buildings) domain. I have experience in spearheading the projects with funding organizations, public and private sectors, preparing technical and policy documents, implementation of national and international programs pertaining to water (covering value chain from mountains to plains; from glaciers to river basins to oceans, technical spectrum for water supply, waste-water treatment systems, water-energy -carbon nexus), sustainability, and climate change. I have worked for bilateral and multilateral projects for World Bank, IFC, ADB etc. The major activities comprise of developing technical strategic approaches for capacity building and knowledge management programs; resource mobilization and partnerships; supporting and enhancing advocacy and management. I have extensively worked on Global Public Affairs in India, International relations, creating Public-Private-Partnerships, techno-commercial assessment of various activities across innovations in clean technologies.
