Description
At the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), Ms. Corcione acts as the head of the Consumer Protection National Authority of Colombia. This entails investigating deceptive and misleading practices that affect consumers, along with ensuring consumer product safety. She has worked in consumer protection for more than ten years, in particular ensuring compliance with international standards and good practices.
Earlier, Ms. Corcione worked for the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States, within the Food, Health and Consumer Affairs Section. After her international experience, she took on the role of Director of the Consumer Protection Investigation Division, where she led Colombia’s accession process to the Consumer Policy Committee of the OECD.
Ms. Corcione holds a Private Law Master’s Degree from the Università degli Studi di Roma "Tor Vergata", along with a Law Degree from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, where she is a Private Law professor, as well as at the Universidad de los Andes de Colombia.
