Pinuccia Contino is the Head of Product Safety and Rapid Alert System in the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers of the European Commission (DG JUST). In this capacity, she is responsible for the revision of the General Product Safety Directive, which addresses, among other things, emerging issues such as connected devices and cybersecurity, the online aspects of product safety and the enhancement of the Rapid Alert System (Safety Gate/RAPEX). She also attaches strategic importance to the advancement of product safety on the global scene and to the dialogue and cooperation among the different product safety stakeholders. Pinuccia is Italian and holds a Master's degree in Political Sciences and International Relations.
