Description

Ivana Saula is currently the Research Director for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Ivana has built a career in the labour movement over the last ten years, and has used her ability to leverage research insights in support of lobbying and advocacy campaigns that have affected legislative changes. Ivana’s work has led to significant legislative changes in Canada, in particular, her research has set a benchmark in the area of occupational PTSD in feminized workplaces, both in Canada and in G8 countries. Her research on artificial intelligence and automation in multiple sectors across Canada is the basis of a national advocacy campaign with the goal of affecting provincial and federal legislation on surveillance and data collection. As an advocate for workers, Ivana works to ensure that worker experiences are the driving force of legislation and policy, especially, on issues that have a direct impact on the quality of working conditions. She has built her career in academia and the labour movement, gaining experience in public and private sector unions, with research experience in labour markets, precarious employment and poverty, healthcare systems, equitable access to social programs, industrial policy, and the future of work.
