Description
Verónica Díez Girado is the Head of the International Educational Assessments Area at Spain’s National Institute for Educational Evaluation (INEE). She leads Spain’s participation in large scale international assessments conducted by the OECD and the IEA, supporting the use of international evidence to inform educational policy. Within this work, she has served as Spain’s National Research Coordinator for PIRLS since 2016 and has been a member of the PIRLS Reading Development Group for the past seven years. She has also been closely involved in TALIS over several cycles.
Her background combines international project leadership with classroom experience in Spain and the United States. She holds degrees in Primary Education, Secondary Education and Psychopedagogy, as well as a Master’s in Advanced Pedagogy Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid. In Illinois, she is certified as a Learning Behavior Specialist and holds endorsements in School Psychology, Bilingual Education and ESL, strengthening her focus on literacy, inclusion and multilingual learning environments.
