Description
Wade AuCoin has been ACOA’s Director General for Policy at the Agency’s Head Office in Moncton, New Brunswick, since 2013, where he leads various strategic initiatives and holds responsibility for Cabinet Affairs, Policy Research and Economic Analysis. Wade has held various positions at the ACOA head office in both policy and programs units since joining the Agency in 1998.
From 2014 to 2017, Mr. AuCoin served as the Head of the Canadian delegation for the France-Canada Regional Joint Cooperation Commission between Atlantic Canada and Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
From 2009 to 2013, Mr. AuCoin served as Director and then as Director General for Community Development programming, which included responsibility for delivering ACOA’s portion of the Economic Action Plan.
In 2009, Mr. AuCoin presented on Canada’s approach to economic stimulus at the OECD Regional Policy Forum: Global Crisis, Regional Responses.
In 2007, Mr. AuCoin led Atlantic Canada’s participation in the OECD report entitled Higher Education and Regions: Globally Competitive, Locally Engaged.
Mr. AuCoin holds a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Ottawa, a Master's Degree in Public Administration from l'Université de Moncton, and is a 2005-2006 Action Canada fellow.
Wade is an Acadian from the village of Grand Etang in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
