Biography
Dr. Daniela Brückner is a magistrate, a jurist, and a digital expert with many years of
management experience in the public sector. As Secretary of State for Justice in the
federal state of Berlin, she was responsible for significant digitalisation projects such
as the introduction of electronic files.
Since June 2022, she has been the Secretary of State for Justice in the federal state
of North Rhine-Westphalia and has participated in numerous digitalisation projects
from this position. She is also involved in the digital transformation of the judicial
system at the federal level and chairs the national Council for Electronic Justice. The
Council for Electronic Justice in Germany plays a crucial role in overseeing the digital
transformation of the judicial system. It is composed of the heads of the judicial
administrations of the federal and state governments and aims to enhance efficiency,
accessibility, and security through innovative digital solutions.
Brückner focuses on user-centred, secure, and future-ready solutions for the digital
state. Under her presidency, the national Council for Electronic Justice has adopted a
digital strategy for the German judicial system to advance the digitalisation of justice.
The aim is to simplify processes for parties in proceedings and employees of the
judicial system and to respond to people's needs, also using artificial intelligence.
