Biography

Borwornsak Uwanno is a prominent Thai constitutional scholar who played a central role in drafting Thailand’s 1997 and 2017 constitutions, as well as the 2006 interim constitution. A key advocate for the establishment of the Constitutional Court inspired by continental European models, he has significantly shaped Thailand’s constitutional development. His academic work has explored the role of the monarchy in Thai political traditions and the dynamics of sovereignty between the King and the people. Recognised as one of the country’s most influential constitutional experts, Borwornsak’s views continue to inform debates on governance and constitutionalism in Thailand.
