Biography
Manuel Olmedo Palacios is Secretary of State for Justice of Spain. Having entered the Judiciary Career in 2003, he has served as legal advisor to the General Council of the Judiciary, being a member and coordinator of the working groups for the Reform of Access to the Judicial and Prosecutorial Careers (2010-2012), for the implementation of the Transparency and Access to Information Plan of the Council of the Judiciary (2013-2015), and for the elaboration of the Principles of Judicial Ethics (2013-2015). From late 2021 to late 2023, he served as Secretary General for Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service. In November 2023, he was appointed Secretary of State for Justice of the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with Parliament of Spain, a position he has held ever since. He has also lectured as Honorary Professor of Criminal Law at Carlos III University of Madrid. Internationally, he has carried out extensive work in the field of judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
