Biography
Mariane Piccinin Barbieri is a Policy Analyst at the OECD Directorate for Public Governance, where she leads work on digital transformation for access to justice. Her work focuses on how data, automation and emerging technologies can strengthen justice systems, improve service delivery, and promote people-centred and evidence-based policymaking. Mariane has co-authored several OECD flagship publications on digital government and justice innovation, including Towards Effective Governance of Justice Data (2024), the OECD Online Dispute Resolution Framework (2024), and The OECD Digital Government Policy Framework (2020). She coordinates the OECD’s Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice and contributes to the implementation of the OECD Recommendation on Access to Justice and People-Centred Justice Systems.
Prior to joining the OECD, she worked at the French Digital Council (Conseil national du numérique) on issues related to AI governance and digital regulation, and as Legal Counsel for Uber Technologies in Brazil, advising on data protection and privacy.
Mariane holds a Master’s degree in International Public Management from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor of Law from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). She is a qualified lawyer with the Brazilian Bar Association and fluent in Portuguese, English and French.
