Biography

Judge Hossam Sadek was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1962. He holds a Bachelor of Law from Alexandria University. Since March 2020, he has served as Deputy Minister of Justice for International and Cultural Cooperation Affairs. Beginning his judicial career in 1986 at the Public Prosecution, Judge Sadek progressed through several key judicial posts, including Chief Deputy, Judge at the Court of First Instance, and Chief Justice. He joined the Court of Cassation in 1999, later becoming Vice President and Head of its International Relations Office. He has also served as Judge at the Arab Investment Court of the Arab League, Arbitrator at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, and Vice President of the Arab Society for Commercial and Marine Law. An expert in international cooperation and arbitration, Judge Sadek has represented Egypt in numerous judicial programmes and lectured widely on commercial, corporate, maritime, and private international law.
